Largo, Florida.
About 40 minutes from Tampa · no travel fee
Largo is central Pinellas, inland, and mostly modest, which makes it one of the more honest markets we shoot. The stock is dominated by mid-century block ranch homes, single story, flat or low pitched roofs, terrazzo underfoot in a great many of them, on open lots with little shade. Alongside that sits a large volume of villa, condominium and manufactured home communities, much of it aimed at buyers over fifty five.
The block ranch is a specific photographic problem. White or pale exteriors on open lots under a bright Florida sky will clip to pure white on a single exposure, taking the roofline and any texture with them, so exteriors get bracketed even when the light looks easy. Inside, these houses are usually a series of smaller separated rooms rather than an open plan, with lower ceilings and modest windows. The temptation is to go ultra wide to make rooms look larger, and it is the wrong call: the buyer arrives, the room is half what the photo implied, and the showing is over before it starts. Straight verticals, honest focal length, and good light do more.
Villa and condo listings turn on clarity rather than drama. Buyers are comparing many similar units, so complete room coverage, an accurate sense of the layout and clear amenity photographs are worth more than styling. A floor plan earns its cost in these communities.
Largo is also close to everything in Pinellas, and that convenience is a real part of the pitch worth showing from the air.
We shoot across central Largo, the villa and condominium communities off East Bay and Belcher, the established streets around Ridgecrest and Harbor Bluffs and the newer infill closer to the Intracoastal. Largo Central Park, the Pinellas Trail, and being ten minutes from both the beaches and the bay are the practical selling points, and they photograph well from the air where the position between the two coasts is obvious.
